BENNINGTON -- Eugene G. Larson, a resident of Park Avenue in Suffern, N.Y., died Saturday morning, Feb. 25, 2006, at the Centers For Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington, following a lengthy illness.

Eugene was born in New York City on April 8, 1937, the son of Gustave and Aurelia (Bobrovnicky) Larson. He received his education in the Bronx, N.Y., graduating from Theodore Roosevelt High School in the Bronx, class of 1954.

Upon graduation from high school, he attended Hunter College in New York City. Eugene was very proud of being a member of the United States Marine Reserves and equally proud and devoted as a lieutenant in the New York City Police Department for many years.

Eugene was a fitness buff. He loved to exercise and was a fanatic about nutrition. He enjoyed traveling, especially with his family, and was an avid New York Yankee fan.

Eugene is survived by his sister, Eleanor “Lee” Dykes and her husband, Donald, of Manchester Center; his nephew and niece to whom he was very close to, Eric Dykes and his wife Kami of Rochester, N.H., and his niece Kirsten Dykes of Bennington, one aunt; and several cousins.

At the request of the family funeral services will be private. Interment will be in the family lot in Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx.
