Eunice Jordan 1924 - 2009 BENNINGTON Mrs. Eunice Marie Jordan, 84, a resident of Chapel Road Bennington, V. died Friday April 24, 2009 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born in Bennington, Vt., Nov. 29, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Eva Butler Maynard. Eunice received her education in Bennington and was a graduate of Saint Francis de Sales Academy class of 1940. She married Llewellyn H. Jordan on June 16, 1944. Mr. Jordan died in 1984. In earlier years Eunice worked at the Vermont Restaurant, Lolly Manufacturing, the Bennington Banner, the Vermont Steak House and C.B. Sports. Eunice enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, flowers and especially spending time with her family. She was a great woman of faith and in the 1970's and 80's she opened her home for a crisis bed for United Counseling Service. She leaves a daughter Linda Sandquist and her husband, John, of Bennington. Two sons, Bob Jordan and his partner, Bob Mix, of East Sandwich, Mass., Scott Jordan and his longtime girlfriend, Lisa Rampolla, of Bennington. Eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren. A brother Thomas Maynard of Bennington and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by three sons, Donald, Richard and Dennis Jordan, a brother Ronald Maynard and a sister Florence Kalinowski. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held on Monday April 27, 2009 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church where the Mass of Resurrection will be offered. The burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME on Sunday April 26, 2009 from 2 to 4 p.m. when the family will be in attendance If friends desire contributions in memory of Eunice Marie Jordan may be made to the Southwestern Vermont Regional Cancer Center through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201.
