Eunice E. Kelson

1925-2013 BENNINGTON Eunice E. Kelson, 87, wife of Samuel C. Kelson Jr., a former resident of School Street, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Rivers Edge Community Care Home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Great Barrington, Massachusetts August 1, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Peter E. and Eunice (Camp) Hill. She received her education in the Bennington schools.

Sam and Eunice were married on February 22, 1947 in Bennington. In earlier years Eunice was employed at Sprague Electric and Tansitor Electronics. She was later employed at Jard Company for many years until the time of her retirement. Following retirement she worked part time at the Grand Union supermarket in Bennington.

Eunice was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church in Bennington. She enjoyed gardening, genealogy and watching NASCAR racing.

Survivors include her husband, Samuel Kelson of Bennington; her children and their spouses, Sandra and gary Tilley of Cambridge, NY, Sam and Anne Kelson of North Bennington and Stanley C. Kelson of Pownal; a granddaughter who was raised by Sam and Eunice, Marcy Kelson and her fiance David Boschetti of Bennington; six other grandchildren, Christy Toleman, Kimberly Leonard, Kristen Danielsen, Steven Kelson, Amber Kelson and Wayne King; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Eunice was predeceased by a daughter, Dianne Kelson, a daughter-in-law, Rose Marie Kelson and by four siblings, Robert & Peter Hill, Patty Foster, and Harriet Proctor.

At Eunice's request private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Burial will take place in the family lot in White Chapel Cemetery, Bennington.
