Eva L. Racicot 1920 - 2008 BENNINGTON Eva L. Racicot, 87, a 55-year resident of Congress Street died peacefully on Monday, July 14, 2008, at her residence, surrounded by her family, following a long bout with cancer. Born in Hoosick Falls, N.Y., on Aug. 31, 1920, daughter of Anthony and Annuziata DeLuca Liporace, Eva received her education in Hoosick Falls, where she graduated from high school. Mrs. Racicot's home, family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her main interest. She was a very good seamstress. Eva also enjoyed shopping, reading, baking and sewing. She was a member of Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church. Her husband, Victor Racicot, whom she married April 6, 1947 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls, died March 23, 1989. She leaves her children, Joan M.. LeBlanc and her husband, Treffle, of Wildwood, Fla., Evelyn Phillips and her husband, John, of Bennington, Victor Racicot Jr. of Concord, N.H. Gregory Racicot and his wife, Aggie, of Pownal, and Marilyn Winnie and her husband, Randy, of Bennington; 12 grandchildren, Audra Novoa, Treff LeBlanc, Joshua Phillips, Nathan Phillips, Kirstin Lawton, Erin Racicot, Caleb Racicot, Obediah Racicot, Celisha Racicot, Kristy Thompson, Keri Winnie and Kyle Winnie, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by four sisters and three brothers, Lena Carelli, Rose Elso, Mary Capano and Jennie Liporace, Joseph, Charlie and Frank Liporace. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be Saturday, July 19, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. from the MAHAR and SON FUNERAL HOME with a prayer and then from the All Faiths Chapel at the Vermont Veterans Home at 11 a.m. where the Mass of Resurrection will be offered by the Rev. Michael Demasi. Burial will take place in the family lot in White Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday July 18, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. when the family will be in attendance. If friends desire, contributions in memory of Eva L. Racicot may be made to the VNA and Hospice of SVHC Inc. through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.
