Evelyn M. Delaney 1913-2008 NORTH BENNINGTON Evelyn M. Delaney, 95, widow of George J. Delaney, a resident of Fillmore Pond, Bennington, died Saturday, May 17, 2008 at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation following a brief illness. Born April 1, 1913 in New London, Conn., daughter of Frank and Edna Wilson Mullen, she received her education in the southern New Jersey schools. In earlier years Mrs. Delaney was employed in the office at Stanley Tools in Shaftsbury and later at the Catamount National Bank. Mrs. Delaney was a long time member of the North Bennington Baptist Church. She also served as a volunteer at Park McCullough House in North Bennington for many years. Mr. and Mrs. Delaney were married February 27, 1960 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in North Bennington. Mr. Delaney died October 10, 2002. She leaves a son, Thomas Delaney of Rockville, Md.; two granddaughters and one great-grandson; a niece, Charlotte Muoio, of Marlton, N.J. and a nephew, Frank Mullen of Fort Washington, Pa. and several cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME, Friday, May 23, 2008 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jerrod Hugenot, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Bennington, officiating. Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. when the family will be in attendance. Burial will take place in the family lot in St. John's Cemetery, North Bennington. Should friends desire contributions in memory of Mrs. Delaney may be made to the Bennington Rescue Squad through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
