Evelyn "Dolly" Pallo

1930 - 2015 BENNINGTON Mrs. Evelyn "Dolly" Pallo, 84, a resident of Blackberry Lane died Friday April 3, at her residence following a long illness, with her family and her constant companion of eleven years, Uber (her pug), by her side. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on Nov. 30, 1930. She was the daughter of the late John and Julia (Bednar) Semon. Evelyn received her education in Clifton, N.J., where she graduated from Clifton High School and later graduated from William Patterson University in Wayne, N.J. On Feb. 3, 1951, Evelyn married William G. Pallo at Saint Brendan's Catholic Church in Clifton, N.J. Mr. Pallo, "Bill", died on October 27, 2007. For twenty years, Evelyn was an elementary school teacher in Montville, N.J. Evelyn was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church, where she served as a Eucharistic minister. She enjoyed traveling with her family, playing tennis and golf, watching her Chicago Bears, and spending part of every summer in Maine. Survivors include her children, Nancy Nash and her husband, Dr. Bruce Nash, of Shaftsbury, Captain, United States Army Reserve, William C. Pallo and his wife, Rena, of Bennington, and Steven Pallo and his wife, Christine, of Pompton Lakes, N.J.; two grandchildren, Kerstin and Heidi Pallo of Pompton Lakes, N.J.; and her brother, Walter Semon of Clifton, N.J. FUNERAL NOTICE: The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church in Bennington on Tuesday, April 7, at 11 a.m. The burial will take place in the family lot at Our Lady of the Magnificat Cemetery in Kinnelon, N.J. If friends desire, contributions in memory of Evelyn "Dolly" Pallo may be made to the Second Chance Animal Shelter through the office of the MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201. Her sense of humor and "joie de vivre" will be missed by many Godspeed Dolly!
