Evelyn J. Parizo

1929-2013 Evelyn J. Parizo, age 84, a resident of Stamford and formerly of Pownal, VT died on Tuesday afternoon, December 24 at her home. She was born in Scotia, NY on October 23, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Frank and Alice (Bhensky) Apholz. She received her education in Glenville, NY. Evelyn married Conrad Parizo, Sr. in Hoosick Falls, NY on October 13, 1966. Mr. Parizo died on June 21, 1995. She retired from CHC in Williamstown. In earlier years, she had been employed at Bijur and Tansitor, both in Bennington. Mrs. Parizo enjoyed knitting, doing crafts, watching and feeding wild birds, squirrels and chipmunks. She is survived by four daughters: Mari Parizo of Pownal, VT, LauraLee Smith of Stamford, VT, Kristine Roy of Adams, MA and Alison Parizo of Stamford, VT, as well as one son, Mark Powell of Washington, MA. and three step-sons. Mrs. Parizo leaves nine grandchildren: Christopher, Marc, and Kevin Drayton, Morgan Roy, and Robbie, Chase, Nick Parizo, Brittany Smith and Derek Parizo. Mrs. Parizo also leaves one brother, Edward Apholz of Broadalbin, NY, and nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by one brother Robert Apholz, and one step-son. FUNERAL NOTICE: A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 31, at 12:30PM at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St. Bennington, Vermont with the Reverend William Cyr, officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery.
