Everett W. Bartlett Jr.

1934-2013 RAYMERTOWN Everett W. Bartlett Jr., 79, a longtime resident of Raymertown died peacefully at his home, Tuesday, August 20, 2013, with his loving wife by his side. Born July 17, 1934 in North Pownal, VT, Everett was the son of the late Everett W. and Stella I. (LaFrance) Bartlett Sr. and the husband for over 56 years of Grace E. (Norton) Bartlett of Raymertown who survives. Everett and Grace were married June 22, 1957. Mr. Bartlett attended Hoosick Falls High School. He entered the United States Marine Corp in 1953 and earned the rank of Corporal (E-3) prior to being honorably discharged on June 15, 1960. Everett worked several jobs throughout his career including working at the Pownal Tannery as a young man, 30 years as a production worker at General Cable in Pownal, VT and most recently for 10 years as a machine operator at the Allied Signal -Oak Industries Plant in Hoosick Falls. Mr. Bartlett retired in 1998. In his quiet time he enjoyed his passion for woodworking and collected nutcrackers and garden gnomes. Mr. Bartlett is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol Jean and Jerry Stewart of Ivorton, CT and Wanda and Allen DuQuette of Melrose, his beloved granddaughter, Brittany DuQuette who was his "Ray of sunshine on a cloudy day", two sisters, Betty Lasson of Culpepper, VA and Phyllis (Ralph) Leonard of N. Pownal, VT, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sylvia (Frank) Wozniak, Kenneth (Pat) Norton and Lois (Phillip) Rifenburgh and several nieces, nephews and cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE: A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 1:15 P.M. at the Howard B. Tate and Son Funeral Home Inc., 2237 New York Route 7, located in Raymertown with Hospice Chaplain, Andy Russ officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the family plot located in Elmwood Cemetery in Schaghticoke. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. prior to the funeral service.
