Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- A prayer service was held on Thursday morning, Nov. 10, 2005, at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home followed by a Mass of resurrection at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church with the Rev. Vincent Coppola, csc, associate pastor, officiating.

Assisting at the Mass were Mr. Leonard Anzivino, Mr. Joseph Anton, Mr. Feran Sauseville and Dr. Barth Vander Els.

The pall was placed over Mr. LeBlanc’s casket by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet Michaels Haines and her husband, Dick, and Doris LeBlanc and her fiancé, Michael Devins. The wooden cross was placed on the pall by his wife, Ida.

The scriptures were read by two grandchildren, the Rev. James Michaels and Mrs. Lynne Wilson.

Music for the Mass included the hymns “How Great Thou Art” and “Just A Closer Walker With Thee,” which were played by Mr. Donald McMahon. A close family friend, guitarist Merton Snow, and his daughter played and sang the songs “Wings Of A Dove” and “If That Isn’t Love.”

The Eucharistic gifts were presented at the altar by three great grandchildren, Ms. Nicki Shearer, Ms. Crystal Chase and Ms. Bailey Michaels. Eulogies were offered by both daughters, Janet and Doris, and his grandson, the Rev. Michaels.

Pallbearers for the services were his grandson, Tom Purdy, and great-grandsons, Joshua Michaels, Sean Michaels, Tyler Purdy, Stephen Purdy and Jon Purdy. Interment followed in St. John’s Cemetery in North Bennington where Father Coppola offered the prayers of committal. A time of fellowship followed at the St. John the Baptist Church hall.

Mr. Everett LeBlanc, 88, a resident of South Street in Bennington, died on Monday, Nov. 7, 2005, at home surrounded by family following a long illness. Arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
