HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. -- Forrest E. Danforth, 84, of High Street, died on Saturday evening, Jan. 22, 2005, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington, Vt., surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Cambridge on Aug. 20, 1920, he was the son of the late Willis Jackson and Laura Sara Carpenter Danforth. He was the loving husband of the late Ruth Myers Danforth, who died on Oct. 29, 1997. They were married in the First Baptist Church on Jan. 3, 1941.

Forrest attended Hoosick Falls schools and worked at Noble & Wood before being drafted into the United States Navy during World War II. After his honorable discharge, he started his career as a self-employed carpenter and worked into his mid-70s. He was a member of the Hoosick Falls Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his six children, Richard F. Danforth and Barbara A. (Raymond) Wrubleski all of Hoosick Falls, Ronald W. Danforth of Hoosick, Janet M. (Douglas) Willbrant of Petersburgh, Gary J. (Eleanor) Danforth and Diana M. (Jeffrey) Kipp all of Hoosick Falls; his twin brother, Franklyn Danforth of Hoosick Falls; 14 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

A celebration of Forrest’s life will he held on Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. in the Robson-Reinfurt Funeral Home, 72 Main St., Hoosick Falls.

Burial with full military honors will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery.

Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 in the afternoon and 6 to 8 in the evening.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Forrest E. Danforth Memorial Fund to benefit the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation’s activity fund, in care of the funeral home.
