GREENWICH, N.Y. -- Frances Ida Hunt, 87, formerly of Cambridge and Eagle Bridge, died Saturday, July 28, 2007, at Saratoga Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Edward C. (Buster) Hunt, who died in 1979.

Born May 15, 1920, in Bennington, Vt., she was the last surviving child of Willis R. and Etta (Harrington) Mattison.

During World War II, Frances worked at the Union Carbide factory in Bennington, Vt. After raising her family, on Academy Street in Cambridge, she returned to Union Carbide and worked for over 20 years before her retirement.

After retiring she enjoyed wintering in Orange City, Fla.

About 10 years ago, Frances moved to Greenwich to live with her daughter.

She was a devout member of the Embury United Methodist Church in Cambridge; a member of the Cap. Maxson American Legion Auxiliary and a volunteer at Senior Citizens.

She loved to work at the tag sales that the church had and going to tag sales in the area.

She is predeceased by three siblings, Curtis Mattison, Lena Van Ness and Liza Green.

Survivors include three children, Sheila Dingman and husband Frank of South Glens Falls, Linda Mosher and husband David of Greenwich and Willis Hunt and wife Barbara of Bennington, Vt.; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

A memorial celebration of Frances’ life will be held on Monday, Aug. 6, 2007, at 1 p.m. at the Ackley & Ross Funeral Home, 73 West Main Street, Cambridge.

Burial of her ashes will follow at Millerton Cemetery in Johnsonville.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the church that was so important to Frances, Embury United Methodist Church, 41 East Main Street, Cambridge, NY 12816.
