ARLINGTON -- Francis J. Baldwin, 81, a resident of Mears Mobil Home Park in Arlington, died Thursday, April 19, 2007, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington.

Francis was born in Salem, N.Y., on Aug. 8, 1925, the son of Harry Baldwin Sr. and Florence Gillette. He attended school in Greenwich, N.Y.

Earlier in life, Francis worked for Mack Molding in Arlington for 11 years and then for Johnson Controls in Bennington, retiring in 1999 after 22 years of service. Francis enjoyed fishing, hunting, loved camping and was an avid Boston Red Sox baseball fan. Francis cherished times spent with his family especially his grandchildren.

Francis is survived by his wife, the former Elizabeth Derosia, to whom he married in Salem, N.Y., on Aug. 15, 1948; his son Edward Baldwin of Arlington; three daughters, Pamela Matson and her husband, William, of Arlington, Deborah Atkins of San Antonio, Texas, and Cheryl Bushee and her husband, Lee, of Manchester; his sister Sylvia Ducharme and her husband, Art, of Cossaynusa, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside funeral services for Francis will be held Saturday, May 12, 2007, at 11 a.m. in the family lot in Evergreen cemetery in Arlington. There are no visiting hours.
