Francis A. DeMarsico 1929 - 2010 NORTH BENNINGTON, VT Francis A. DeMarsico, 81, formerly of Arlington and a resident of North Bennington, died peacefully Saturday Sept. 5, 2010, at The Centers For Living and Rehabilitation. Fran was born in North Adams, Mass., on March 17, 1929, son of Anthony and Mary Lanoue DeMarsico. He grew up in North Adams where he attended local schools and was a Navy veteran. Fran was married to the former Sue L. LeBarron Mears at St. James Episcopal Church in Arlington on June 4, 1971, and together they enjoyed a wonderful 39 years . Fran retired from the Charles Pfizer Company in Adams, Mass., after 31 years in the Preventive Maintenance Department. Following retirement, he realized he had too much free time and began working for the Equinox Nursery in Manchester where he worked for 16 years. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church and the Vestry, member of Masonic Lodge #63 of Arlington and past president and vice president of The Arlington Golf Association. Fran enjoyed all types of hunting as well as fishing, golf, taking walks and especially talking. He was able to strike up a conversation with anyone, even strangers. He will be remembered as a kind and helpful man who even during his own illness assisted others at the nursing home. He enjoyed fishing trips to Lake Ontario and Lake Champlain as well as numerous lakes in Vermont with his wife and family. While living in Arlington, the couple maintained a beautiful home with a manicured lawn, and gorgeous flowers. Fran leaves his wife, Sue, of North Bennington; sons, Craig DeMarsico and Drew DeMarsico both of Pittsfield, Mass., Darryl DeMarsico of Lake Worth, Fla., and Chris DeMarsico of Troy, N.H.; daughter, Tina Marie DeMarsico of Nashua, N.H.; stepson, Allan Mears of Whitehall, N.Y.; brother, Donald DeMarsico of North Adams, Mass.; sister, Phyllis LeFebvre of Bear, Del.; grandchildren, Dominick Francis, Mike, Adelia and Chris II DeMarsico. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 8, at 1 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Scott Neal officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Arlington.
