PETERSBURGH, N.Y. -- Francis R. “Pip” Eggsware Jr., 66, of Main Street, died on Friday at Albany Medical Center.

Born in Bennington, Vt., on March 19, 1940, he was the son of the late Francis R. and Mary Barlow Eggsware Sr. He was the loving husband of the former Pamelia L. Neaton, whom he married on July 22, 1966, in Pittstown, NY.

A graduate of Bennington High School, he was a former member of the Vermont State National Guard. Having resided in Petersburgh for the past 40 years, he worked in the maintenance department of the Berlin Central School District for many years, retiring due to illness. He was a 25-year member of the Petersburgh Volunteer Fire Department and an officer of the Pleasant Valley-Meadowlawn Cemetery Association.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Pam; his daughter Penni-lyn Eggsware and her companion, Joel Shorter, and grandson, Christopher Michael Shorter, all of Petersburgh; a sister, Shirley Babcock of Lakeland, Fla.; close friends Charles F. Bentley of Hoosick Falls, George A. Babcock of Bennington, Darius Lingener of Petersburgh along with several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 4, at 2 p.m. in the Meadowlawn Cemetery, Hewitt Road, Petersburgh.

There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Valley-Meadowlawn Cemetery Association or his grandchildren’s educational fund in care of Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home, PO Box 361, Petersburgh, NY 12138.
