Obituary Condolences

ARLINGTON -- The Mass of the Resurrection for Francis “Butch” F. Fischer was celebrated Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Arlington. The Rev. George Dupuis was the celebrant, assisted by altar server Dalton Duffany.

Music was under the direction of organist Louise Gauthier and included the processional hymn “Amazing Grace,” the offertory hymn “Old Rugged Cross” and the recessional hymn “On Eagles Wings.”

Scripture readings from the Old and the New Testament, along with the responsorial psalm, were read by George Carpenter. The pall was placed on the casket by Butch’s parents, Francis and Dot Fischer, and his siblings Gary Fischer, Cindy Johnson and Kathy Fischer. The offertory gifts were presented at the altar by Butch’s niece, Grace Fischer, and two nephews, Aden Fischer and Dylan Nesbitt.

Interment followed in the family lot in St. Columban’s Cemetery in Arlington where the Rev. Dupuis offered burial rites and committal prayers. Serving as pallbearers were Ron Crawford, Harold LaBatt, Jim Pike, Clyde and Ernie Baker, Shawn Thomas, Matt Morrison and Brian Christiansen. A time of fellowship and shared memories followed at the American Legion in Arlington. Among the many delegations present were representatives from the Arlington Fire Department, Mack Molding, Inc., Arlington Memorial High School class of 1980 and R.K. Miles. Thursday evening at the funeral home the Rev. Dupuis offered a Catholic vigil service followed by a special song and words of remembrance by Butch’s nephews.

Francis “Butch” F. Fischer, 44, a lifelong resident of Arlington, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, at the Centers For Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington.
