Frank G. Shattuck,II 1918-2008 BENNINGTON Frank G. Shattuck, II, 89, formerly of Dorset, Vt. and Hill Shadow Road in Bennington, died peacefully Saturday morning May 24, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington. Frank was born in Syracuse, N.Y. on Sept. 21, 1918 son of Frank M. and Genevieve Hannon Shattuck. He received his education in Syracuse schools and graduated from Cathedral Academy High School in Syracuse. Upon graduation he attended Georgetown University where he majored in Philosophy and English Literature and earned his Bachelor's Degree. Frank was the president of Schrafft's, Frank G. Shattuck, Co. He was a WWII Veteran serving in the Army Air Corps, achieving the rank of Captain and was a member of Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church in Bennington. Frank married the former Frances Kennedy Kelly on Sept. 17, 1945 in St. Augustine's Church in Larchmont, New York. Mrs. Shattuck died August 30, 2001. Frank leaves his children Frank Shattuck of North Bennington, Cornelius Shattuck and his wife Dee of Manchester, Vt., Frances Jane Leta of East Dorset, Vt., Mary Shattuck of Newburyport, Mass., Laura Chila and her husband Tim of Wallingford, Vt., Margaret Shattuck of Gladwyne, Penn. and Susan Ide and her husband David of Richmond, Vt., nine grandchildren, his brothers George Shattuck of Cazenovia, N.Y. and Gerald Shattuck of Brooklyn, N.Y. and his sister Eudoran Watson of Fayettville, N.Y. He was preceded in death by his sister Genevieve Redmond. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Frank will be held Wednesday morning May 28, 2008 at 10:15a.m from HANSON-WALBRIDGE FUNERAL 213 West Main Street Bennington, Vt. followed with a mass of the resurrection to be celebrated at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church at 11a.m. Interment will be private. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be held Wednesday evening May 27, 2008 from 5 to 7p.m. when the family will be in attendance.
