Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Frank W. Snow III, 40, a resident of Wheeler Round, Swanton, and a former longtime resident of Bennington, died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2005, in Swanton following a swimming accident.

Born in Bennington, Aug. 2, 1965, he was the son of Frank W. and Joan (Sawtell) Snow. He received his education in the Bennington schools and was a 1984 graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School.

Frank was employed at the Vermont state office building on Veterans Memorial Drive in Bennington from 1984 until moving to Swanton in March 2004. Since that time he had been employed as the armory caretaker at the Mountain Warfare School in Jericho.

Frank married the former Georgina Garcia in Jamaica on March 3, 2005.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his ATV. Frank was a member of the Franklin County Sportsmans Club, ATV-VASA and Railtown in St. Albans where he was a yellow belt in Tae-Kwon-Do. He was also currently serving as president of the Vermont State Employees Association for Franklin and Grand Isle counties. Frank was also a member of the Vermont State Guard and had recently completed his S.E.R.T.S. training for search and rescue.

Survivors include his wife, Georgina Snow, and two stepsons, Andrew Perez and Matthew Perez, all of Swanton; his parents, Frank W. and Joan Snow of Bennington; his paternal grandmother, Hazel Snow of Bennington; his brother, Spc. Richard Setzer, Vermont National Guard, of Shaftsbury, who is currently serving in Iraq; a sister, Debbie McLean of Wisconsin; a niece and nephew, Crystal and Ricky Setzer of Bennington; two aunts, Doris West of Brewster, Mass., and Anita Rossberg of Beverly Hills, Calif.; an uncle, James Sawtell of Moore, Okla.; and several cousins. The funeral will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2005, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Robin Greene officiating.

Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. when the family will be in attendance.

Burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery.

Due to Frank’s love of flowers, friends are invited to make floral donations or contributions to the Vermont State Guard in Frank’s name through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.
