Obituary Condolences

MANCHESTER -- Frank L. Thompson Sr., 79, of Manchester, passed away Jan. 13, 2008, at the Center for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington. He was born in Manchester on Dec. 30, 1928, the son of Lester and Carrie (Chapman) Thompson. He attended local schools and served in the Navy during WWII.

He married the former Lorraine Flory in 1948. Lorraine passed away on July 20, 1999.

He was a parts manager at Bond’s Garage and Manchester Motors. He was a life member of VFW Post 6471.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

He is survived by two sons, Frank L. Thompson, Jr. of Sunderland, and Edward Thompson of Manchester; two daughters, Joan Owen of Barre and Jean De Cell of Weston; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and his dear friend Irene Merritt.

In addition to his wife, Frank was predeceased by two brothers, Lester Jr., and Howard Thompson and two sisters, Edith Griffith and Flora Waters.

There will be no calling hours. Graveside services will take place at a later date and time to be announced.
