1943-2015 HOOSICK FALLS, NY Freddie Bouplon, 71, passed away peacefully at his home after being diagnosed with Mesothelioma in May of 2014. Nothing was more important than his wife, Barbara Ann (Powers) Bouplon. They celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on July 3, 2014, with their children and grandchildren at Hedges Lake. Freddie was born on December 14, 1943, in Hoosick Falls, N.Y., son of the late Edward A. and Mary Alice (Winegard) Bouplon. He was a proud member of St. Mary's Academy Class of 1962. He joined the United States Marine Corps on August 31, 1962, where he served for 3 1/2 years, Semper Fi. Freddie was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America 370, now local 291, he retired in 2000. Freddie was involved in raising A.K.C. German Shepherds for a number of years. He was the men's basketball coach at St. Mary's Academy in the 1970's. He worked part-time as a police officer for the Hoosick Falls Police Department and was involved in the Pioneer Fish & Game Club, The Boy Scouts Troops #65 & #63, a member of the VFW and was an avid fan of girl's softball, Diet Pepsi and the Beach Boys. Freddie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather (Pa), brother and friend. In addition to his loving wife, Barbara, Freddie leaves behind daughters, Mary (Paul) Haynes Jr., Emily and Eliza Bouplon, Hannah (Eric) Reinhard and son, Edward (Lauren) Bouplon. Pa loved his grandchildren , Jessica and Lucy K. Haynes, Elin, Ryker, Lars, Tristan and Haley Reinhard. Freddie also leaves behind his brother, Edward (Kitty) Bouplon; sister, Susan Bouplon; and several nieces and nephews. Freddie has left this world to join his sister, Marie (Jim) Nealon and his parents, Edward and Mary. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, January 31, at 11 a.m. from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Military Honors will follow the mass at Wood Park. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the start of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to either the Karen and Molly McGovern Memorial Fund or the SVMC Renal Dialysis Annual Picnic, through the MAHAR FUNERAL HOME, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, New York who are handling the arrangements. Freddie's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to his "Angels" at SVMC Renal Dialysis Unit in Bennington for taking such good care of him these past three years and to Elizabeth Hanlon, his Hospice nurse, for making him comfortable these past few months.,
