Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Frederick A. Moffitt were held from the Shaftsbury United Methodist Church Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003 with the Rev. Deborah Estey, pastor, officiating.

The organist was George Paulin. Hymns offered during the funeral service included “Sweet Hour of Prayer,” “In the Garden” and “Hymn of Promise.” “The Lord’s Prayer” was sung by soloist Betty Paulin.

Bearers were Thomas Mooney Jr., Christopher Mooney, Duncan Moffitt, Henry Martinka Sr., Henry Martinka Jr. and Rickey Roy. Words of remembrance were offered by Mr. Moffitt’s brother, Thomas Mooney Sr.

Tuesday evening members of the Bennington Elks Lodge conducted their services in Mr. Mooney’s honor.

Burial took place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Estey offering the committal prayers.

Mr. Moffitt, a resident of Harwood Hill, Bennington, died Dec. 28, 2003 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
