Obituary Condolences

DORSET -- Frederick Snare III, 81, of Dorset and Averill, died Tuesday, June 22, 2004. He was born in Englewood, N.J., son of Edith Dulles and Frederick Snare Jr. He attended the Taft School and Wesleyan University before joining the Marine Corps to serve in the Pacific during W.W. II. He lived in Wilton, Conn. and New York City while a partner at F.I. DuPont. He moved to Bedford, N.Y. when he remarried Sally Schoellkopf and worked with Renwick Realty. He moved to Dorset in 1995 at the time of her death. The Snare family has had a camp in Averill since 1927, following years of fishing at Quimbys. He leaves a son, Derick, and granddaughter, Audrey of Somerville, Mass.; three stepsons, Rick Kelley of Seattle, Wash., Philip Kelley of Stowe, and Peter Kelley of Rutland; two sisters, Dorothy Warner and Margorie Chapman of Dorset; a brother, William Snare, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, June 29, 11 a.m. at the United Church of Dorset. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the United Church of Dorset, P.O. Box 263, Dorset, VT 05251 or the National Kidney Foundation, 11 Vanderbilt Ave., Suite 105, Norwood, MA.
