Gail P. Pierce

1941-2010 CAMBRIDGE, NY Gail P. Pierce, 68, a resident of Academy Street in Cambridge, N.Y., died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington surrounded by her family

Born at the family home in Cambridge, N.Y., Apr. 5, 1941, daughter of the late Francis and Georgianna MoonWeber, she received her education in Cambridge.

Gail married Lloyd Pierce Sr. on July 31, 1959, in Bennington.

In earlier years Gail had been employed at the Polygraphic in North Bennington, and for a couple of years, she worked at Eveready in Bennington.

She loved animals and was known to feed anybody's animals that came around her house. She also enjoyed country music and Elvis. Gail dedicated her life to the care of her son, Michael.

She leaves her husband, Lloyd Pierce Sr., of Cambridge; her children, Bonnie Steiner and her husband, Mark, of Bennington, Lloyd Pierce Jr. of Cambridge, Michael Pierce of Cambridge, Keith Pierce of Cambridge, and Todd Pierce of Cambridge; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Frances Corcoran and her husband, Michael, of Bennington, Ruth LaFaro and her husband, Frank, of Bennington, and Georgianna Mabee and her husband, James, of North Bennington. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins, and her sister-in-law, Linda Pierce Wright, of White Creek, N.Y.

She was predeceased by a sister, Linda Scott, and a brother, Frank Weber Jr.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from THE MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME in Bennington on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at 4 p.m. Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service. The burial will take place in the family lot in Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge, N.Y. in the spring.
