Obituary Condolences

MANCHESTER -- A service in celebration of the life of Garritt C. Van Dyk Jr. was held Wednesday afternoon, June 15, 2005, at Zion Episcopal Church in Manchester. The Rev. Chris Smith was the celebrant. Music was under the direction of organist Gail Albright, who led the choir and congregation in the singing of the hymns “All Things Bright and Beautiful,” “Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee,” “Let Us Break Bread Together” and “For All The Saints.” The Old Testament reading was offered by Mr. Van Dyk’s daughter-in-law Dr. Jennifer Milam.

The New Testament was offered by son-in-law Ted Lindsay. Words of remembrance were offered by Garritt’s son Chip. The hymn “In the Garden” was sung by soloist Gail Albright. Interment followed in the Zion Episcopal Church Columbarium where the Rev. Smith offered burial rites and committal prayers. A time of fellowship and refreshments followed in the church parlor.

Garritt C. Van Dyk Jr., of Black Rock Lane in Dorset, died June 11, 2005, at his home. Arrangements were under the care of Brewster Funeral Service, 34 Park Place, Manchester, VT.
