Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Gary L. “Fred” Froment, 49, a resident of South Street, died Jan. 12, 2004 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center following a long illness.

Born in Bennington July 9, 1954, he was the son of the late John Froment and Anne (Haynes) Froment Carter, who survives. Fred received his education in the Westfield, Mass. and Brattleboro schools. He was a U.S. Navy veteran during which time he was stationed in San Diego.

Prior to his illness, Fred was employed in the drywall construction business in the Brattleboro area. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 1861 in Bennington and the Moose Lodge in Homestead, Fla. An avid outdoorsman, he especially enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his mother, Anne Carter of North Bennington; a sister, Andrea Tranghese of South Hero; a brother, John Froment of Montpelier; two dearly beloved nephews and a niece, Christopher, Daniel and Kami Tranghese, all of South Hero; a brother-in-law, Neil Julien of South Hero; a sister-in-law, Manabu Kato of Montpelier; a son, Matthew Froment of Brattleboro; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

At. Mr. Froment’s request, there will be no services held.
