Obituary Condolences

BRATTLEBORO -- A memorial service for family and friends of Gary Rosen will be held at 3 p.m. at the West Village Meeting House on Sunday, May 6, 2007. Gary passed away on April 14 after a courageous three-year battle with ALS.

The ecumenical service, led by Dr. Jim Levinson, spiritual leader of the Brattleboro Area Jewish Community, and the Rev. Lise Sparrow, pastor of the Guilford Community Church, will feature readings from friends and family. Stephen Rice, head of the Brattleboro Union High School music department, will coordinate music.

Parking at West Village Meeting House will be limited to family members and those needing handicapped access to the facility. All other attendees are asked to park in the Academy School parking lot, where a shuttle will be available.

A family concert that is open to the public will be held on July 3 at the Brattleboro Town Common as part of the Brattleboro Recreation and Parks Department’s summer event series. Lela, Penn and Eliza Rosen will perform Gary’s music in his memory, and people who enjoyed Gary’s shows over the years are strongly encouraged to support the family at that time.

The family welcomes special memories that may be shared at the memorial. They should be sent as e-mails to [email protected] as soon as possible.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Gary may be made to either the Rosen Fund, in care of The Trust Company of Vermont, P.O. Box 1280, Brattleboro, VT, 05302 or Compassionate Care ALS, Inc., PO Box 1052 West Falmouth Massachusetts, 02574.

Arrangements are under the care of Shea Funeral Homes - Covey & Allen Wilmington Chapel.
