Gary J. Ward

1967 - 2014 BENNINGTON Gary J. Ward, 46, a resident of Crossover Road, Bennington, died unexpectedly Monday morning, April 7, 2014, at Albany Medical Center. Gary was born Dec. 19, 1967, in Bennington, son of Mary Harrington Palmer and Jack Ward. Gary received his education in the Bennington schools and was a 1987 graduate of Mt. Anthony Union High School. Gary was employed by Mike and Mary Senecal at Southern Vermont Glass and Shower Door in Manchester, for several years, until the time of his passing. An avid outdoorsman, Gary enjoyed game scouting, hunting, ice fishing, stock car racing, and was a fan of NASCAR, the New York Giants and the Boston Red Sox. Aside from Gary's hobbies and pastimes, Gary's ultimate enjoyment was surrounding himself with the laughter of his family and friends. Gary lived with his Mom offering humor, support and guidance daily. Gary prided himself on being a generous, supportive and loving father, brother, son and friend. Survivors include his daughter, Ashley Ward; his mother, Mary Palmer; his father, Jack Ward; a dear brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Jessica (Gulley) Ward; a favorite cousin and best friend, Peter Nolan and his dog Becky-Marie, all of Bennington. Gary is also survived by his Aunt Flossie and Uncle Robert Nolan of North Bennington, Uncle Charlie and Aunt Candace Harrington of Crowne Point, N.Y., and several cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE: Memorial services celebrating the life of Gary J. Ward will be held from the MAHAR SON FUNERAL HOME on Friday, April 11, 2014, at 6 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday, from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Private committal services will take place at the convenience of the family at the Center Shaftsbury Cemetery. Should friends desire, memorial contributions in Gary J.
