Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Geno W. Vitagliano, 68, formerly of Cedar Drive in Montpelier and most recently Bennington, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, at the Crescent Manor Care Center in Bennington.

Geno was born in Rutland on Feb. 10, 1938, to Salvatore and Anna (Garafano) Vitagliano and received his education in Rutland schools. Upon moving to the Barre-Montpelier area from Rutland, Geno worked as a car salesman for Cody Chevrolet for thirty years.

He was a member of the Navy, Montpelier Elks Club, the VFW and the Moose Club in Barre. Geno enjoyed fishing, taking rides, especially on Sunday starting out with breakfast, and cherished times spent with his family. Geno liked to relax and enjoy life.

Geno is survived by his wife Loretta of Montpelier, who he married in Rutland on Sept. 12, 1959; two sons, Geno Vitagliano, Jr. of Barre and William Vitagliano of Montpelier; his daughter Theresa Lee and her husband Tim of Bennington; his brother Jerry Vitagliano of Schenectady, N.Y.; three sisters, Elaine Garrow of Proctor, and Mary Canavan and Philomena Fredette, both of Rutland; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his brother John Vitagliano.
