George F. Beagle, Sr., 71, a resident of North Street in North Bennington, passed away Friday December 14, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. George was born in Cambridge, New York on August 19, 1941 the son of Fred and Besse (Langlois) Beagle and attended local schools. George worked as a farm hand most of his life and also drove a cement truck for Clemente Brothers, Greenwich Ready Mix and Dailey's in Bennington.
George was over a forty year member of the Washington County Coon and Cat Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and traveling with his wife. He enjoyed listening to country and gospel music and loved spending time with all his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
George is survived by his wife the former Jean M. Jones of North Bennington whom he married April 17, 1999 at the Second Congregational Church in Bennington, his sister Eveline Cutler and her husband Jim of Hoosick Falls, New York, his brother Fred Beagle of Cambridge, New York, his daughters Candi Tripodes and her husband Ed of Armon, Kansas, Lori Smith and her husband David of North Adams, Massachusetts, Lisa Hurley of South Carolina and Gail Law of Schenectady, New York, his sons Jim Washburn and his wife April of Salem, New York, George F. Beagle, Jr. and his friend Blossom of Buskirk, New York, Rodney Beagle and his friend Tracy of Buskirk, New York, Steven and Melonie Sussee of Salem, New York and TJ Greenwalt, his wife Heather and their daughter Elizabeth of Buskirk, New York, his step-children Patricia Tucker and her husband Dwayne of Ten Sleep, Wyoming, Dan Jones and his friend Carla of Bennington, Vermont, Lynn Lawyer and her husband Mike of Schroon Lake, New York, and Ken Jones and his wife Lynne of Bouplon Hollow, Vermont, thirty two grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and his lifetime friends, Art Cliff, Frances Harris, Joe Mangan, Paul Rice, Paul Brundage, Troia and Justin Burgess, Chris and Sharon LaFlamme and Ed and Sharon Hall. He was preceded in death by his sister Addie Sussee of Canada,his brother Bill Beagle of Salem, New York, great grandson Isaiah James Fink of Schenectady, NY and grandson Steven Sussee, Jr., of Salem, New York.
Graveside funeral services for George will be held Saturday December 22, 2012 at 1pm at Woodlawn Cemetery in Cambridge, New York. Rev. Mary Lee Clark of the Second Congregational Church in Bennington will officiate. There are no visiting hours.
