George William Gardner HOOSICK FALLS, NY George William Gardner, "Bob" 74, passed away peacefully at home, Wednesday April 18, surrounded by his devoted family. He was born in Bennington, Vt., the son of the late Leo and Eldora (Roberts) Gardner of Poestenkill, N.Y. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-two years, Joan M. (Yerdon) Gardner of Hoosick Falls and his six children David Gardner (Diane) of Queensbury, N.Y., Donald Gardner (Cassie) of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., Denise Morse (Johnny) of Maynardsville, Tenn., Douglas Gardner (Jennifer) of Petersburgh, N.Y., Deneen Hansen (Bruce) of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., and Dreama Maleady (Eric) of Petersburgh, N.Y. George is also survived by eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren, his beloved Aunt Dottie and her daughter Carol. George worked hard supporting his large family and retired from General Electric after twenty-six years of service. In his earlier years he was a volunteer fireman and a member of the rescue squad and auxiliary police. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles with friends, singing at family gatherings and playing the harmonica. He will be remembered for his many stories and unique expressions. So the next time you get lost out in West Cupcake, think of him. He will be missed. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be Sunday April 21, at 2 p.m. from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 12 noon until the start of the service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the for Lung Cancer Research through the funeral home.
