George J. Kaukas 1921-2008 HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. George J. Kaukas, 87, of Willow Street died at his residence on Wednesday afternoon. Born in Hoosick Falls, N.Y. on April 23, 1921, son of Pius and Anna Plausinis Kaukas. A 1938 graduate of St. Mary's Academy in Hoosick Falls, George worked for many chemical plants in New Jersey. He returned back to Hoosick Falls 30 years ago and retired from Holman Manufacturing Company in 1983. He enjoyed golfing and fishing. He was the loving husband of the late Marie Sohl Kaukas who died on June 21, 1997. He leaves his children, George P. Kaukas of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., Michael P. Kaukas of Langley, B.C., Nora A. Wood of Gibson, B.C.; siblings, Edward Kaukas of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., Agnes Sevecke of Bonita Springs, Fla., Olga McCloud of Orlando, Fla., and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by siblings Alice Robinson, Charles and Joseph Kaukas and Helen T. Lang. FUNERAL NOTICE: Relatives and friends are invited to the ROBSON-REINFURT FUNERAL HOME, 72 Main Street, Hoosick Falls, N.Y. on Monday, May 12, from 1 to 2 p.m. for visitation. Rev. Michael DeMasi will conduct a brief prayer service at 2 p.m. followed by burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad.
