Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Mr. George R. Haseltine, 90, a former resident of Plaistow, N.H. and Morgan, died Wednesday June 16, 2004 at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington following a long illness.

He was born in Haverhill, Mass. Feb. 13, 1914. He was the son of the late Ernest C. Haseltine and the former Hadie Viola (Sanderson). He received his education in Kingston, N.H. and was a graduate of Sanborn Seminary High School in Kingston.

He was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force. He served as a ground crew chief, where he was in charge of servicing and repairing heavy duty aircrafts.

He was employed at the Portsmouth Navy Ship Yard where he worked as an electrician instructor.

George was a life member of both the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Haverhill, Mass. and the American Legion Post in Plaistow, N.H. Survivors include his sister Marion Taylor of Morgan and two nephews.

A memorial service will be held from the Linwood Cemetery Chapel in Haverhill Tuesday at 11 a.m.

The burial with military honors will follow the service.

There will be no calling hours.
