COSSAYUNA, N.Y. -- George E. Schneeweiss, 77, formerly of East Lake Road in Cossayuna, passed away Friday evening Sept. 21, 2007, at Glens Falls Hospital. George was born April 5, 1930, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of the late George C. Schneeweiss and Ruth Hansel Cereghino and his step-father Harold Cereghino. He graduated from Hamilton High School in Brooklyn.

George worked for J.P. Morgan Bank in New York and later worked for the Bank of New York in Manhattan for 32 years, retiring as an assistant secretary. Following retirement he and his wife wintered in Florida where he worked for a local dog track in Fort Lauderdale. He was a past member of the Benevolent Protection Order of Elk’s in Greenwich.

He was predeceased by his wife, Frances Fennell Schneeweiss, who passed away Nov. 15, 2001. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also predeceased by a brother, Richard Schneeweiss and a sister, Carol Keller.

He is survived by his two daughters, Lynne Farrar and her husband Martin of Greenwich, and Frances Robertson and her husband Craig of Greenwich; a half sister, Blanche Wetherholt of Mantua, Ohio, and four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
