Obituary Condolences

HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. -- Geraldine “Geri” A. Frank, 79, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.

Born in North Adams, Mass., Geri was raised in North Pownal, Vt. and was the daughter of the late Victor and Ethel Sheldon Barrier.

As a young girl, she moved to Hoosick Falls, where she lived for much of her life, except for a few years in Troy, and was a graduate of Hoosick Falls High School.

Geri was employed as a scientific typist by the O&W Leiberer Research Labs in Hoosick Falls from 1948 to 1968; in that year, she took a job with Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy where she worked in the same capacity until her retirement in 1996.

In her retirement, she continued to do part-time typing at home on technical books for RPI professors as well as for her family. When time allowed, Geri enjoyed crocheting, reading and listening to music and, although her hobbies brought her enjoyment, the time she spent with her family was most important to her. She will be remembered by them for her love and for being a truly dedicated mother and grandmother.

She was the wife of the late Robert S. Frank, to whom she was married in 1944. Mr. Frank died in 1966. She was the loving mother of Cheryl Frank of Louisville, Ky., Robert D. Frank, of Albany, Susan Crumb of Sherburne, Victor Frank of Brookline, Mass., Stephen Frank of Los Angeles and Keith Frank of Troy; cherished grandmother to Stacey Crumb, Karin Crumb, Jesse Holbritter, Emma Frank, Samuel Frank, Kwami Edwards, Amy Gifford and the late Erich Charles Frank; dear sister of the late William and Mildred Barrier.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 1 p.m. in the Robson-Reinfurt Funeral Home, 72 Main St., Hoosick Falls. Interment will follow in the Hoosick Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also visit the funeral home on Tuesday before the service, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
