Gladys Louise Jepson 1923-2011 SHAFTSBURY, VT Gladys Louise Jepson, 87, formerly a resident of Twitchell Hill Road in Shaftsbury, passed away peacefully Wednesday April 27, 2011 at the home of her caretakers, Tom and Brenda McGuire in Cambridge, New York. Gladys was born in Bennington, Vermont on November 17, 1923 the daughter of the late John and Jennie (Smith) Jepson, Sr. and attended Bennington schools. Gladys worked at E.Z. Mills in Bennington for many years and then for Tansitor Electronics retiring after twenty-five years of service. Gladys was a former member of the Brooklyn Belles and in her earlier years she enjoyed hiking, especially to the white rocks and fishing. She truly loved the outdoors. She had an infectious sense of humor, enjoyed traveling with her friends, collecting coffee mugs from all of the States and watching and following sports, especially her nephews. Gladys is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brothers, John Jepson, Jr., Charles Jepson, George Jepson, Clayton Jepson, Clarence Jepson and Howard Jepson and her sisters, Mildred Jepson, Lillian Harrington and Marion Stratton. FUNERAL NOTICE: A celebration of the life of Gladys Louise Jepson will be held Saturday morning April 30, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home 213 West Main Street Bennington, Vermont. Interment will follow in the family lot in White Chapel Cemetery in Bennington. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be held Saturday April 30, 2011 from 10 to 11 a.m. one hour prior to the service when the family will be in attendance.
