Obituary Condolences

RUTLAND -- Gladys T. Stacey, 71, of Rutland, died Tuesday morning, Feb. 28, 2006, at her residence, following a brief illness.

She was born on June 8, 1934, in Newark, the daughter of Ernest and Bernice (Goodrich) Ruff.

Mrs. Stacey was a longtime resident of Rutland, where she helped her husband manage their stores: the Killington Market, Terrill Street Market and Stacy’s Market in Wallingford.

She also was employed by the General Electric Co. for 15 years, retiring in 1982.

Mrs. Stacey loved quilting, traveling and spending time with her family.

She was a member of the Grace Congregational Church of Christ.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna Averill and her husband, Eric, of Barton and Deborah Coffrin and her husband, Albert, of Cape Elizabeth, Maine; a son, Shane Stacey and his wife, Susan, of Rutland; three sisters, Dorothy Masiak of Derby, Conn., Tina Pello of Ocala, Fla., and Maxine Tifft of Bennington; four grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Stacey, in 1978; a son, Derek Stacey in 2000; three sisters and a brother.

There will be no public calling hours.

Graveside services will be held at a later date in the Evergreen Cemetery.

Arrangements are by the Aldous Funeral Home.
