Glenn Drohan CELEBRATION OF LIFE NORTH ADAMS A celebration of life for longtime local journalist and North Adams Transcript Editor-in-Chief Glenn Drohan who died May 26, 2011, will be held on Saturday, June 18. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mr. Drohan's life at the Freight Yard Pub in North Adams, from 4 to 8 p.m. At his request, a funeral and wake will not be held. A reporter and editor with more than 26 years of experience, Drohan first joined the Transcript as a correspondent in 1985, covering the town of Florida, before moving to the Williamstown beat full time. He also spent 12 years with The Berkshire Eagle, working as a copy editor, reporter or bureau chief from 1988-96 and 1999-2003. He was managing editor of the Brattleboro (Vt.) Reformer from 1996 to 1998, then served as the Transcript's editor from 1998 to 1999. He was editor of The Advocate in North County from 2003 to 2006 before he rejoined the Transcript as editor in 2006. Drohan is survived by longtime partner Marsha Landry, with whom he lived in North Adams. He also leaves behind his daughter, Mollie, 27, and a brother, Kerry, who recently retired from The Boston Globe.
