Glenn was born in Troy, New York on May 2, 1957 and raised in Averill Park, New York, spending much of that time on the farm of his grandparents. Glen was a police officer for 20 years, something he had wanted to be from his early childhood, inspired by his Grandfather Ferguson who was himself a Rensselaer County Sheriff. Glenn was a police officer in Troy, NY, Essex, VT and finished out his career in Bennington, VT. His parents were founding members of the Averill Park Rescue Squad. At the age of 18, Glen joined the department and has been a fireman on various departments throughout New York and Vermont until his death. He also became an EMT at 18, and continued to serve until his health kept him from doing so with the Arlington Rescue Squad. In Bennington, he volunteered for the Bennington Rescue Squad, Putnam Hose Company, North Bennington Fire Department and, most recently, White Creek Fire Department. He has worked at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, and for Southwestern Vermont Regional Ambulance, which was his favorite job in the whole world. He was a member of the Green Mountain Christian Center in Bennington and was a deacon for the past several years. His family was very special to him, especially his children and his five special, beautiful grandchildren, Josh, Sean, Jacob, Madelyn and Thomas. Glenn is survived by his wife Kim Ferguson, his mother Madelyn Ferguson, and his father Arthur Glenn Ferguson and his wife Marilyn, his children Casey Ferguson and Benjamin Ferguson and his step children Allison Fleming and husband Jason, Chad Harvey and wife Meghan, Joshua Harvey and Stephanie Harvey. He is also survived by his brother Charlie Ferguson and wife Gina, his sister Nancy McGrath, sister Sandy Berger and her husband Eric, brother-in-law Jeff Hermansky and his wife Natalie, brother-in-law Troy Hermansky and his wife Jenn and sister-in-law Darryl Davis, as well as many nieces and nephews.
