Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Mr. Glenn Linihan, 77, a resident of Walloomsac Apartments, School Street, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2006, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.

Born in Shaftsbury, March 3, 1928, he was the son of the late Frederick and Elizabeth (King) Linihan. He received his education in the Shaftsbury schools.

Mr. Linihan married the former Norma Irene Billings at the First United Methodist Church in Bennington on July 9, 1977.

In earlier years Mr. Linihan was employed for 35 years as a cook at Bennington College. Later he was employed in the maintenance department at Mount Anthony Union High School and the Cora B. Whitney School.

Mr. Linihan enjoyed walking and meeting people.

Survivors include his wife, Norma I. Linihan of Bennington; a brother, Kenneth Linihan of Manchester; three stepsons; two stepdaughters; 10 step-grandchildren; nine step-greatgrandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by a friend, Kathy Allen.

The funeral will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Deborah Estey, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Bennington, officiating.

Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, Tuesday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Burial will take place in the family lot in Center Shaftsbury Cemetery.
