Glenn A. Marquis

1952 - 2013 DORSET Glenn Allen Marquis, 60, of Dorset, died July 11 at home with his love of 27 1/2 years, Judy Carpenter at his side.

He was born on Dec. 4, 1952 in Rutland and grew up in Wallingford, graduating from Wallingford High in 1970.

He and his identical twin brother, Gary, now deceased, played guitar and sang at local venues. Later, he relocated to Ellsworth, Maine, where he was employed as a projectionist. In addition he worked in the health insurance industry and was employed by several car dealerships over the years. Other jobs included working for RGIS Inventory, as a golf instructor for the USGTF , trialing golf equipment for Links New England, an online golfing magazine, and working at Home Depot as well as for the US Census Bureau.

His passions included playing Texas Hold'em and golf as well as reading.

He is survived by his longtime companion and caregiver, Judy Carpenter, and their son, Nicholas Marquis; Sarah Kemp, his daughter, and her family of Cornwall, Vt., and his son, Michael Marquis. He is also survived by five brothers and their families.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A private graveside service was held Monday, July 15, at Saint Patrick's Cemetery in Wallingford.
