Gordon F. "Gordy" Muckle III 1968 - 2009 BENNINGTON Gordon F. "Gordy" Muckle III, a former resident of Bennington, Vt., and more recently of Vienna, Ill., died unexpectedly Saturday, June 6, 2009 in Vienna. He was born in Bennington, Vt., March 7, 1968. He was the son of Gordon F. Muckle II and Renelle Bartlett Muckle. Gordy received his education in Bennington and was a 1987 graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School. He married the former Shannon Brown on July 7, 2001 in Vienna, Ill. In earlier years Gordy had been employed at Nastech and Fairdale Farms in Bennington. While living in Vienna Gordy was employed as a certified welder at Dry Systems Technology. He was an avid outdoorsman. Gordy enjoyed deer hunting and was a skilled bow hunter. He also enjoyed boating and fishing and teaching his son hunting skills. Additionally, he enjoyed many types of competitive sports and had participated on softball, basketball and bowling teams. He leaves his wife, Shannon Muckle of Vienna, Ill., son Gordon F. Muckle IV of Vienna, daughter, Kelsey Muckle of Bennington, two step daughters, Christine and Lindsey Glass of Vienna, his parents, Gordon Muckle II and Renelle Muckle of Bennington, sister, Tammy-Jo Webb and her husband, Michael of Bennington, brother, Travis Muckle of Bluffton, S.C., three nephews Bradley, Brandon and Michael Webb of Bennington. MEMORIAL NOTICE: A memorial service to celebrate the life of Gordy will be held on Saturday June 13, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME in Bennington. Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. The burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington. If friends desire contributions in memory of Gordon F. Muckle III may be made to the Vermont through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201.
