Gordon F. Niles 1935 - 2008In Loving Memory BENNINGTON Gordon Fredrick Niles, 73, passed away peacefully at his St. Petersburg, Fla., home on Monday, July 7, 2008, after a brief illness. He was born in Bennington on April 22, 1935, to John and Ruth "Peggy" Niles, their only child. Mr. Niles leaves his first love and former wife, Patricia K. Niles Ebner of Bodega Bay, Calif., and five children, Debby Niles Suates and her husband, Alonzo, of Sparks, Nev., and Debby's two children, Erik of Weston, and Nicole and her husband, Rick, and two-month-old daughter, Isabella, all of San Ramon, Calif.; Paula Niles and her three children, Noah, Cindi, and Tyler, all of Tampa, Fla.; Gordon J. Niles and his wife, Lori, and their two children, Anna and Sarah, of Nashville, Tenn.; and Raymond Niles and his wife, Marlene, of Fresno, Calif. Mr. Niles was predeceased by another daughter Anita "Nitz" Niles Burrington, formerly of Pownal. His five children, seven grand children, and one great-grand daughter were immense sources of joy for Gordon. Mr. Niles worked for several years with the Telephone Company where he met his first wife. In later years Gordon became a chef and worked in several local establishments to include the Blue Benn Diner, the Dinette and Williams College, to name a few. Gordon traveled both south and also to the mid-west, eventually settling in St. Petersburg, and retired there. Mr. Niles served for the Bennington Rescue Squad and was a two-time governor of the Loyal Order of the Moose of which he was very proud. FUNERAL NOTICE: Arrangements were made through the Alife Tribute Funeral Home in Largo, Fla. Gordon will be laid to rest with his parents, John and Ruth "Peggy" Niles in Pownal. The family will have a gathering in remembrance in September.
