Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- A memorial mass for Grace B. Lemieux was held on Saturday morning, May 1, at the Four Chaplains All Faiths Chapel at the Vermont Veterans Home with the Rev. Michael DeMasi, chaplain, officiating.

Special musical selections for the mass included, “Until Then,” “Precious Memories,” “How Great Thou Art” and “Amazing Grace.”

The musical group River Bound provided the music for the mass. The group includes Henry Simpatico, Kevin Borden and Mert Snow. Assisting at the mass was David O’Brien, deacon from St. John the Baptist Church in North Bennington. Mr. O’Brien read the gospel and offered the homily.

The Old Testament from Ecclesiates, was read by Mrs. Lemieux’s grandson, Steve Pratt, and the New Testament, Paul’s Letter to the Romans, was read by her grandson, George Pratt. Words of remembrance were offered by Art Lemieux, her son, her granddaughter Debbie Jacoby and family friend Joanne Dunham.

The Eucharistic gifts were presented at the altar by five great-grandchildren, Franklin Cody, Patrick Cody, Bradley Anair, Simone Beck and Christine Jacoby. Interment took place earlier in the week at Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington.

Mrs. Grace Bent Lemieux, 92, a resident of Trinidad, Colo., and formerly long-time resident of Bennington, died Dec.19, 2003 in Colorado.

Local arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
