BENNINGTON -- Mrs. Grace M. Hurley, 76, wife of Louis F. Hurley, a resident of Hurley Lane, Bennington, died Tuesday, May 6, 2003 at Berkshire Medical Center following a long illness.

Born in Lechene, Quebec, Canada Dec. 24, 1926, she was the daughter of the late George and Almada Bellerose. She received her education in Canada and Cohoes, N.Y.

Mr. and Mrs. Hurley were married at St. Francis de Sales Church on Nov. 3, 1945.

In earlier years Mrs. Hurley was employed at EZ Mill, Union Carbide Corporation and Thomson Manufacturing Company. She later was employed by the food service program at Mt. Anthony Union High School until the time of her retirement Mrs. Hurley was a member of the Shaftsbury Grange and a former member of the Women of the Moose. Her favorite past times were fishing, sewing and especially spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Louis F. Hurley of Bennington; a daughter, Cindy Harrington of Bennington; a son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Nancy Hurley of Bennington; three grandchildren, Carrie Haskell, Aimee Harrington and Betsy Hurley; two great grandchildren, Jessica Haskell and Morgan Haskell; nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Hurley was pre deceased by a sister and two brothers, Virginia Bonneau, George Bellerose and Bernard Bellerose.

The funeral will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Saturday, May 10 at 9:30 a. m. with a prayer and from Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church at 10 a.m. where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered.

Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. when the family will be in attendance. The wake service will be offered Friday evening.

Burial will take place in the family lot in White Chapel Cemetery.

Charitable contributions in memory of Mrs. Hurley may be made to either the Shaftsbury Grange or the Bart J. Ruggiere Adaptive Sports Center in Manchester through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
