LONDONDERRY -- Grace R. Hazelton of Londonderry died Nov. 25, 2004, at “Our House” in Rutland of Alzheimer’s disease.

She was born in New York City on Dec. 10, 1913, the daughter of William and Jessie (Morgan) Reynolds, and was married to Everett “Bud” Hazelton of Hell’s Peak Farm, Londonderry on Sept. 7, 1937.

Grace was a graduate of the Women’s College of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and taught for 25 years in Jamaica at Mt. Laurel, in Manchester and in Londonderry, including Flood Brook School.

She was an active member of the Second Congregational Church of Londonderry, singing in the choir and working with the Dorcas Guild. She worked with the Windham Co. RSVP and, as a senior citizen, organized the senior citizen suppers in Londonderry for many years. She was a seventh degree member of the Londonderry Grange and the Industrial Grange of Andover. She belonged to many educational groups and received various educational awards. Grace loved photography, traveling, Elderhosteling, needlework, music, raising flowers and golf.

She is survived by her children, Derry H. Dickinson of Dorset, Robert W. Hazelton of Wilmington, N.C., Glenna H. Taxter of Manchester, Donald W. Hazelton of Londonderry and their spouses. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, William Reynolds and her beloved husband, Everett Hazelton.

A memorial service to celebrate Grace’s life will be held at the Second Congregational Church of Londonderry on Dec. 13 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Grace’s memory to the Second Congregational Church of Londonderry or Bennington Project Independence, 124 Pleasant St., Bennington, VT.
