Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Mrs. Gracie M. Stratton were held at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home on Tuesday evening. Officiating was the Rev. Thomas Truscott, pastor of the Federated Church of East Arlington. Special musical selections offered during the service included “God Be With You Till We Meet Again,” “Precious Lord Take My Hand” and “Amazing Grace,” sung a capella by Jen Moore.

Other hymns were “How Great Thou Art,” “God Will Take Care of You,” “Great is Thy Faithfulness,” “Safe in the Arms of Jesus,” “The Lord’s Prayer” and “What A Friend We Have in Jesus.” The Rev. Truscott reflected upon Mrs. Stratton’s faith, compassion, her ability to see the best in others, always willing to help those in need and especially her family devotion.

American Legion Post 13 Auxiliary conducted services with Neva LaCroix and Gail Krizon leading the service. The Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary conducted their services with Clara Dupee, president and Grace Vasquez, chaplain presiding. The Women of the Moose held services with Hazel Jones, Ruby Coyne, Linda Moxley, Doris Boutin, Heidi Maccioli and Joan Snow participating. VFW Post 1332 auxiliary held services with Gail Beauregard, president, Josea Colvin, senior vice president and Grace Vasquez, chaplain, officiating.

Burial will take place at a later date in the family lot in White Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Stratton, 71, a resident of East Road, died June 5, 2005, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

Arrangements were under the care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home.
