Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Gustav A. Vlasak were held from All Faiths Chapel at the Vermont Veterans Home on Monday, Jan. 3, 2005, where the liturgy of Christian death and burial was offered by the Rev. Michael A. Demasi, chaplain.

Organist was Louise Gauthier and soloist was Monica Murray. Hymns offered during the funeral service were “Amazing Grace,” “How Lovely is Your Dwelling Place,” “The Supper of the Lord” and “On Eagles’ Wings.”

Burial took place in the family lot in the Vermont Veterans War Memorial Cemetery at the Vermont Veterans Home with Father Demasi offering the committal prayers. The American flag that draped the casket of the World War II Army veteran was folded by Joseph Krawczyk and Kenneth Lorrette of American Legion Post 13 in Bennington and presented to Mr. Vlasak’s nephew, William Uhlir. Taps were sounded by Maurice Rancourt.

Mr. Vlasak died Dec. 30, 2004, at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
