Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Guy J. Ottaviano were held from All Faiths Chapel at the Vermont Veterans Home on Nov. 4, 2005, where the liturgy of Christian death and burial was offered by the Rev. Michael A. Demasi, chaplain.

Organist was Louise Gauthier and soloist was Monica Murray.

Bearers were Patrick Gavin, John J. Ottaviano Jr., Michael Caslin, Eric White, Edward Lewis, David Pierce and Rodney Belville.

The scriptural readings were offered by Alex Mahar. The offertory gifts were presented by Mr. Ottaviano’s children, Christine Smith, Angela Slocum, Donna Ottaviano, Margaret M. Ottaviano, Guy A. Ottaviano and Anthony J. Ottaviano.

Burial took place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery with Father Demasi offering the committal prayers. Military honors were accorded the World War II Army veteran by Ralph Brown and Joseph Krawczyk of American Legion Post 13 in Bennington who folded the American flag and presented it to Mr. Ottaviano’s brother, John J. Ottaviano Sr. Taps were sounded by Maurice Rancourt. Following the funeral services a reception was held at the Vermont Veterans Home. Mr. Ottaviano, a life long resident of Bennington, died Nov. 2, 2005, at the Vermont Veterans Home.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
