Obituary Condolences

MANCHESTER -- Hal Miller, 76, died at his home after a brief illness on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005.

Mr. Miller was born in West Haven, Conn., on Sept. 7,1929, the son of Harold E. and Dorothy (Elliott) Miller. He graduated from Admiral Billard Academy in New London, Conn., and the University of Connecticut in 1951.

During his early years he was in the real estate and insurance business in Milford, Conn. Hal moved to Manchester in the late 1970s and formed the Cambridge Group. Mr. Miller served on the Bennington County Court Diversion Review Board and was a member of the Dorset Field Club.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Joanie Hunter Miller, and children H. Wynn Miller of Colorado Springs, Colo., Chris Miller of Calais, and Margot Racine of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., Hunter Melville of Woodstock, Doug Melville Jr. of Simsbury, Conn., and Andy Melville of Jacksonville, Fla., and nine grandchildren. Mr. Miller is also survived by his sisters, Diane Riley of Killingworth, Conn., and Margot Larson of Simsbury, Conn.; and a brother, Rick Miller of North Haven, Conn.

Funeral services for Mr. Miller will be held Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church of Manchester. The Rev. Steven E. Berry will conduct the service. Interment will follow in the family lot in Delwood Cemetery in Manchester. There are no visiting hours.
