Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Harold G. King were held at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home on Monday morning, July 2, 2007, with the Rev. Robin Greene resident chaplain of the Vermont Veterans Home officiating. The hymn of reflection for the service was “The Old Rugged Cross.” Serving as bearers were Mary Harrington, John Joy, Robert Hull, Richard Hull, Charles Niles and James Niles.

Burial with committal prayers followed in the King family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Greene conducting the service.

Military honors were accorded the Korean Army veteran by members of the Vermont Army National Guard under the direction of Staff Sargent Mumley, who presented the American flag to Mr. King’s brother Raymond.

Mr. King, 81, a resident of Depot Street, died June 26, 2007, at the Veterans Administration Center in Boston following a lengthy illness.

Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home.
