Harold P. Tobin 1926-2011 RUPERT, VT Harold P. Tobin, 84 of E. Rupert, Vt., passed away Sunday January 9, 2011 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington. Harold was born in Dorset, VT on April 8, 1926, the son of Pearl and Cassie (Bell) Tobin. Harold was married to the former Madeline Kinnie. Maddie passed away February 26, 2002. Harold served in the United States Navy during WWII with the Seabees and also served with the National Guard. Harold was a carpenter for most of his working life. He also had worked for the Wilcox Dairy in the 60's and took care of the Barlow farm in Dorset Hollow for several years. Harold was an avid hunter and enjoyed auto racing and driving his tractor. He is survived by three sons; Gordon Tobin of Fair Haven, Vt., Erwin Tobin of Rupert, Vt., and Greg Tobin of Slatington, Pa., his brother; Morris Tobin of E. Rupert. Vt., his sister; Helen Cepela of Dorset, Vt., five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: Friends may call at the Brewster Funeral Home, 34 Park Place Manchester, VT on Thursday January 13, 2011 from 5 to 7 p.m. when the family will be in attendance. Inurnment will take place in N. Rupert Cemetery in the spring.
